About our Community and School District
Perrin-Whitt Consolidated Independent School District has served the community of Perrin since the first school was established in 1914. The Perrin and Whitt school districts joined forces in the 1970s.Perrin, Texas, is located on Highway 281, halfway between the neighboring cities of Jacksboro and Mineral Wells. Perrin is a farming community located in the heart of oil and gas country. Our mascot is the Pirates. The mission of our school district is to prepare our students to be leaders in today’s world. We are very proud of the many Perrin graduates who have gone on to great successes in many walks of life, and it is our continuing commitment to our students to make sure each of them is equipped to contribute to our society when they leave our school.

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a * Flash Flood Watch for portions of north central Texas and northeast Texas, including the following areas, in north central Texas, Collin, Comanche, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Eastland, Erath, Fannin, Grayson, Hood, Hunt, Jack, Johnson, Montague, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Stephens, Tarrant, Wise, and Young. In northeast Texas, Delta, Hopkins, and Lamar. * From Friday morning through Saturday afternoon * Showers and thunderstorms are expected to become more numerous through the day Friday and continuing into Saturday. The heaviest rainfall may occur late Friday into Friday night. * Rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches will be possible especially north of I-20 toward the Red River through Saturday. Isolated heavier amounts in excess of 5 inches can be expected. * Soils will saturate quickly with periods of heavy rainfall resulting in rapid runoff and the potential for flash flooding.
